Don’t forget about you!
The demands of raising a child with ADHD can be stressful. Between managing the outbursts, organizing backpacks and muttling through homework hour, there is time for little else. That’s why it is important as caregivers that we take care of ourselves so we can take care of our children. That means letting go of guilt and spending time at the gym or joining a book club. Perhaps a morning walk or spending time with an old friend is in order. It will give you something to look forward to, where the focus is on you, not managing your surroundings. Trust us. Take care of yourself so that you will have the energy to help your child be the best he/she can be!
